PETER WILLIAM HOLDEN - ARABESK

'Arabesque'is a mechanical installation which has its roots both in Mary Shelly's Frankenstein and the alchemist's laboratory. Life sized cast human body parts with translucent qualities bare their internal robotic mechanisms to the public. The wiring itself is an aesthetic expression deliberately integrated into the installation to bringing chaotic lines of abstract form to contrast with the organized symmetry of the body parts.

BIO: Peter William Holden was born in a decaying industrial town in Northern England in 1970 and from an early age I became fascinated with moving imagery, transformation and technology. Home computers of the 1980fs gave him a glimpse into the wonderful world of mathematics. Electro and Hip-Hop with its synthesized sound captured his soul and introduced me to the complex dance routines of break-dance; hence acquainting him with the beauty of choreographed physical movement.
